St. John Fellowship of Christian Athletes
at CFCC
The St. John Chapter of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes

College's Webber Center on Friday, April 18th. Over 100 parents &
students dressed up and came out to celebrate what Christ has done through
this organization over the 2007-08 school year. A highlight of the evening
(besides the great food!) was hearing a testimony from a representative
of each class about the role the FCA played in strengthening their faith
and spreading the Gospel. Thanks to Mr. Overfelt and his family for
their efforts to make this a special, Christ-filled evening!

up by our teams & clubs in our newly enhanced courtyard, and talking

SE Lake Weir Avenue is One Way Until December
The long-anticipated enhancement of SE
Lake Weir Avenue began on Saturday, January 5th. This project is expected
to take about 12 months. Throughout the entire project, SE Lake Weir
Avenue will be a one-way street with all traffic heading northbound
from SE 31st Street (the new South Ocala Bypass) to SE 17th Street.
This means all traffic heading for St. John must turn onto SE Lake Weir
Avenue at some point south of the campus. To find an alternate route
to a point south of St. John, click here
for a detailed street map of this section of Ocala.

SOME SCHOOL HIGHLIGHTS FROM FALL 2007:
SEPTEMBER...
See You At The Pole
Wednesday, September 26th was the day
students across the nation gathered at the flag poles of their schools
(public & private) to pray for their schools, their communities,
and their nation. The students of the St. John's Fellowship of Christian
Athletes chapter organized our biggest "See You At The Pole"
Day in St. John history. It was great to see all the students, teachers,
parents, and friends who gathered together early in the morning to join
each other in prayer. Thanks to the students of FCA and their sponsor,
Matt, for their efforts in this event.
High Schoolers Take Leadership in Canned Food
Drive
The students in the 11th & 12th grade religion classes at St. John
initiated a canned food drive to benefit InterFaith's food pantry. Over
the course of just 2 weeks, these 80 or so students used several strategies
that brought in several thousand canned & boxed food donations which
will go a long way towards helping our less-fortunate neighbors in Ocala
& Marion County. Way to go, Saints!!
