AfterCare's program includes
age-appropriate activities, homework time, and a daily snack. Hours are
2:30-5:30pm with students entering the program at their school
dismissal time.
Enrollment in AfterCare is open to all
K3-5th grades students at St. John Lutheran School who are in good
standing. Registration forms must be filled out in their entirety and
returned to St. John before students may begin staying in AfterCare.
Policies and Procedures:
Parents of students in AfterCare should
watch for the weekly AfterCare newsletter that includes the weekly
snack schedule as well as a note to parents about the week with an
inspirational note or Bible verse.
Any student who requires medication
during AfterCare hours will need to have a form filled out by the
parent including specific directions, dosage, and time(s) to
administer. Medication must be provided in the original bottle.
Getting to know your child so that he or
she will be comfortable in our program is very important to us. Please
be sure to fill in the student history on the application form and feel
free to make notes about things you would like the AfterCare teachers
to know. Make sure that phone numbers & contact information are
correct on application forms. Also, please be prompt about updating the
AfterCare staff (as well as the School Office) when phone numbers and
other contact information changes.
Students must be picked up promptly by
5:30pm. A late fee of $5.00 will be assessed for every 5 minutes late
and a double fee after 15 minutes.
Pick-up information:
For the safety of our
students, parents must sign students out daily with the adult who is
supervising AfterCare. Students may not leave the program and walk to
the parking lot to meet parents, nor will they be released based on a
phone call. Adults having permission to pick up your child will have to
show their picture ID and be listed on your application form. As stated
above, students must be picked up promptly at 5:30pm. A late fee of
$5.00 will be assessed for every 5 minutes late and a double fee after
15 minutes.
