St. John Values...
our relationship
with our parents. We couldn't do it without you! Volunteerism opportunities
abound, from driving on field trips to manhandling the copy machines.
Contact the front office for details about specific current needs.
PTL (Parent Teacher League) Is...
one of the important links between parents & the
school. It secures home support for the aims of the school and enables
both home and school to help children grow as Christians. PTL offers:
- Liaison with the school administration
- Fellowship with other parents
- Volunteerism opportunities within the school community
such as Room Mother and Teacher Appreciation Week deliveries
- Fun activities for students, such as Red Ribbon
Week, Field Day and the Fall Festival
- Beneficial Fundrasing for St. John School, including
the Christmas Auction and Gift Wrap Fundraisers. Past efforts include
gymnasium bleachers, playground equipment, computer equipment and
school vans.
PTL meets at noon on the first Tuesday of each month
in the Social Hall at the south end of the campus, and includes a
delicious pot luck luncheon (bring a dish if you are able). We are
looking for active parents to participate in meetings and serve on
commitees. Won't you come for an hour lunch once a month, joining
with other concerned and involved parents? This is an exciting way
to stay up to date on what's happening at your child's school.
Academic
Boosters Invites You...
...to join us for our quarterly meetings which will
be announced in the Friday Flyer.
Academic Booster Club has been in operation for over
10 years serving our students and families in the arenas of curiculm
and development. Quarterly meetings keep members informed on our school's
academic programs and imporevemte, test scores and trends, college
guidance information, and resources availble to our sfchool. Everything
is reviewed and discussed with an eye to the improvement of our children
and teens' academic programs and progress.
Members of the Academic Boosters have servedon
the accreditation commitee and have been invited to sit on our School
Board Commitee, and often review potential academic prerams, educational
trips, an dcommunity service opportunities. Parents of students from
preschool age to high school seniors are encouraged and ivited to
attend. The Academic Booster club is not a fund raising organization,
however they do have donated monies that can be spent on special academic
needs.
Athletic Boosters Needs
You...
...to help enhance and support our many
sports programs. Our purpose is to provide funding for the puchase
of capital items which impact and benefit all sports programs at St.
John. In the past, we have purchased equipment for the weight room,
renovated the locker rooms, and helped renovate the gymnasium, including
the floor, walls, hoops and stage curtain.
The Booster Club offers Athletic Passes
for the entire school year. These passes are offered as a convenience
to you and as a benefit to St. John Athletics. The passes are for
admission to all regular season athletic events at St. John. See you
there!
Bible Study...
All St. John moms are invited to meet
on Wednesdays at the home of Kelly Rivera for a Bible study and prayer
group. For more information, contact the school office.
Fundraising...
St. John provides a variety of ways to
help our school raise funds.
- Box
Tops for Education:
There are 3 basic ways to earn cash for our school, as detailed
below. Sign up online for the Box
Tops Booster Club for additional opportunities.
- Save Box Top Coupons
from hundreds of General Mills products you use every day. Turn
in the coupons to your child's teacher or at the front office.
The school earns $.10 for every coupon, and those dimes add
up to thousands of dollars every year for St. John!
- Box Tops Marketplace: Support
our school by starting every online shopping trip at the Box
Tops Marketplace. This is your gateway to quality stores like
J.C. Penney, Target, Office Depot, and more! Report and present
a verification to your child's teacher showing you have ordered
your merchandise.
- Charge with your Box Tops Visa card and 1%
of each purchase goes back to the school.
- Campbell's Labels for Education: For over 32
decades, Labels
for Education program has provided educational equipment in
exchange for product labels. For your convenience, we have provided
a link to a complete
list of eligible products, detailing what portion of the labeling
should be saved.
- Sally
Foster Gift Wrap: Each autumn we kick off our fundraising
with the gift wrap sale. St. John is consistently at the top of
our region in sales. Help the school raise in excess of $10,000
by participating in this valuable fundraiser.
- Dollars for Scholars: Seeking to raise $80,000
in scholarship money for St. John students, we have partnered with
QSP in the Reader's
Digest Magazine Fundraiser to support our scholarship fund.
- PTL Auction: This annual Christmas event raises
about $38,000 for special projects for our school. Past projects
have included a state-of-the-art computer lab, picnic tables, playground
equipment, and a new art studio.
- Libray Book Fairs: For many years the library
has put fresh, new resources on the shelves, thanks to your support
of the November and April book fairs. Volunteers to set up and tear
down the fair, as well as sales help on the floor are always welcome.
- The Paddock
Mall Simon Scholars program is a competition
among area schools. Simply take your receipts to Guest Services
between designted dates in July and November, and earn 1 point for
St. John for every dollar you spend at the mall. (Two points for

won first place - $2500 for our school!
- Target's
Take Charge of Education program donates 1% of your
purchases made at Target retail stores and at Target.com
to St. John. Use your Target Visa at other stores and 1/2% will
be donated. In the past, we have received several $1,000 checks,
which were used for technology improvements throughout the school.
- SCRIP: Imagine being able
to spend $10 for a national retailer's $10 gift card, and St. John
get's 12% back? That's how SCRIP
works. You receive a gift card, for the full face value, which can
be used nationwide, and St. John receives a percentage donated by
the retailer. Shopping opportunities include clothing, gasoline,
groceries, restaurants, entertainment, and home repair, among others.
